Plant passport

From 2020 onwards, a plant passport will be mandatory for all plants for planting. The system and format of the official attestation have been updated. The new plant passport will consist of a label with a uniform content that needs to be attached to each commercial unit by registered operators. This change will improve the visibility of the plant passport and the traceability of plant material. Plant passports are also a prerequisite for the free movement of goods between Switzerland and the European Union. Moreover, the requirements for the registration will be stricter and registered operators will need to take more responsibility for keeping their plants free from regulated pests.
