Varieties Protection

Protection of plant varieties is akin to patents and trademarks in the family of intellectual property.

Plant variety protection law governs the intellectual property rights in new varieties of plants. The person that holds title to protection of plant varieties has the right to protect his varieties from unwanted commercial use.
