Animal husbandry, together with dairy production, accounts for around half of the total value of agricultural production. The requirements for animal breeding and keeping are becoming increasingly stringent, as are requirements for the quality, traceability and labelling of animal products. Livestock farmers need to address these developments by keeping production costs as low as possible and offering market oriented products.
