Animal Tracing Database

The Animal Tracing Database is the basis for the traceability of animals in order to ensure food security and prevent epizooties. The database is operated by the company identitas AG on behalf of the Federal Office for Agriculture. It provides animal keepers with unique ear tags to identify the cloven-hoofed animals (cattle, pig, sheep, goat and pasture kept game). Thanks to an appropriate recording system, movements of cloven-hoofed animals, equids and poultry are registered according to different characteristics.
