Agricultural policy
The federal government establishes an agricultural policy framework to support farming families in fulfilling their social responsibilities. The principles for this are set out in Articles 104 and 104a of the Swiss Federal Constitution. The Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) involves the necessary target groups when developing strategies and measures.

Agricultural policy strategies
The Confederation draws up strategies for developing Swiss agricultural policy over the long term. These strategies set out a vision and goals that guide the creation of future agricultural policy.

Current agricultural policy projects
The Confederation is shaping agricultural policy through a range of projects. It is working to adapt the framework conditions so that farming families can meet the demands of the population (Art. 104 and Art. 104a of the Swiss Constitution).

Adopted agricultural policy reforms
Since the 1990s, several reforms have enabled Swiss agricultural policy to develop.
