The various public services which the agricultural sector is required to provide, under Article 104 of the Federal Constitution, are promoted by specific types of direct payments. The purpose of each of the direct payment instruments is reflected in the designation of the type of subsidy concerned. The following figure shows the design and structure of the new system of direct payments.
